The test
What does the exam test?
The German Test for Professional Purposes (Deutsch-Test für den Beruf, DTB) is the final exam of the job-related German courses (Berufssprachkurse) under the German Language Promotion Ordinance (Deutschsprachförderverordnung, DeuFöV). It shows how well you can communicate in German at work – when looking for a job, in a job interview and in everyday working life.
BAMF is responsible for the test, and telc gGmbH developed it. Only institutions approved by BAMF may carry it out. The test is available for levels A2, B1, B2 and C1 – matching the target level of your course.
