Help helps
"You can't help everyone," says the narrow-minded man and doesn't help anyone. "

Our goal
The aim is to achieve permanent coexistence between refugees and people who are already living here. The project removes the boundaries between the two groups and promotes integration into society. The completed sponsorships ideally develop into stable friendships, so that there is a lively exchange and mutual support beyond the project
The federal program
The Federal Ministry for Family and Civil Society Tasks has been promoting and supporting civic engagement in the form of sponsorships with refugees with the federal program "People Strengthen People" since 2018. The aim is to achieve permanent coexistence between immigrants and people who are already living here. Sponsorship removes the boundary between the two groups and promotes integration into society.
Mediation and matching
Every mentee is invited to a brief preliminary talk when they register. As part of this, a short “inventory” of the living conditions of the person, the linguistic abilities and a superficial assessment of the psychological situation (in particular whether the person (s) appear traumatized or frightened) is carried out.
Then it is checked which sponsor would be “suitable” to look after the person or the family. In particular, age, areas of interest, gender and wishes, etc. must be taken into account.

As soon as a "suitable" constellation arises, both parties are brought together so that they can get to know each other and exchange ideas. At least 1 meeting per week should be aimed for.
